Malù

Malù

Design Ilenia Viscardi, 2026

Malù—an acronym for “light in the sea”—evokes the image of a shell cradling a pearl. From this inspiration emerges a compact object that unfolds into two united entities, designed to hold what is intimate and personal. On the outside, a pure metal form presents itself with precision and lightness, marked by a subtle line that hints at its opening. Inside, reflective surfaces amplify the space and engage the surroundings, while the gesture of opening from above redefines everyday use, making it fluid and unexpected. Malù interprets the nightstand as a small architectural element: discreet yet recognizable, essential yet rich in meaning. An object that safeguards, reflects, and conveys a new idea of contemporary intimacy.
